10/11/2023 0 Comments T rex restaurant disney springsWe were seated in the area where they had the meteor showers. Once we went in, 2/3 of the restaurant was empty! The décor/setup of the restaurant was very interesting. Also, when we arrived at around 12:30pm, I overheard the hostess telling the lady in front of me without reservation that the wait would be around 20 mins. I took the advice of other people and called the restaurant few days before our trip and was able to make reservation with no problem. Few weeks before our trip I checked Disney's website and it showed that there was no availability during our entire stay. We've been to Orlando many times but this was our first time actually eating there as there was always a long line outside the restaurant around dinner hours. Interesting restaurant but definitely not for young kids/toddlers/babies. The chocolate cake for 4 gave my 4 year old wide eyes with the dry ice! I know it's kind of a cool idea to have food with dinosaurs, but take your money elsewhere for edible food. If your child loves dinosaurs, they will like this place. I felt bad she had to serve such bad food. Good points- waitress was fantastic- great service. Seriously people, my husband will eat anything and he ate two bites of a giant burger. We had dessert because we all wanted the chocolate cake- although I wanted to skip. I ordered the salmon - which was ok, but the rice orzo with peas, olives, and peppers, I ate two bites of. My mother in law ordered the chicken sandwich which she finished half. His main complaint was it tasted like freezer burned and it was very dry. We compared it to the burgers of dominos pizza. My husband will eat anything and everything. We got an appetizer with an array of choices- this was ok! My husband ordered a large hamburger, which he barely ate. The food was nearly inedible for three adults. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it meant getting snacks before bed because we couldn't finish our $144 meal. I wanted to try and fit in all the best things a 4 year old would want to do at Disney. Next time i would demand another table if i weren't happy. So that hard they hurt to bite in to! We would visit T-rex again because we know what the food and service can be like. When the food came it wasn't half as good as the first time because it was cold within 5 minutes of being blasted with air conditioning! it made the waffle fries go freezing and rock hard. We thought ok we shall just put up with it because we know the food was worth it. We asked for another table but was unable to be moved because they were busy. We were plonked on the crappest table known to man with a huge air vent/ fan blowing down on me constantly. Anyway we went away and came back later on and was seated within 30 minutes. They told us we would have to come back in two hours time re-check in and wait in line again? The current wait time for a table was already 1 hour. We went to the check in/ reservation desk and asked for a table for 2 but if it was ok to reserve for in around 2 hours time. We knew from experience that T-rex can get quite busy and that wait times for a table get quite long. On our second visit we arrived at Disney Springs quite early and fancied a walk around before dining. I ordered the 'Mega Mes-O-Bones' and both were delicious!! Service was also top notch. the food was delicious □ My boyfriend ordered the 'Boneyard buffet' which consists of 1/2 rotisserie chicken, 1/2 rack of ribs, waffle fries and coleslaw. We visited this restaurant twice over our 18 night trip last year we loved it so much! Our first time was brilliant! no bad comments whatsoever.
